I’m sitting in our home at Raven Creek Lodge. It is snowing and the thought occurred to me to go out and put the snow cover over the windshield of my car. Then I remembered that I no longer have a car…
Friday night, while coming home from getting personal items from my mother’s house for the family a few hours away, I lost control of my car on the curve of an icy winding road. Somehow, I was able to sideswipe a telephone pole (rather than hitting it head on) that took off the outside of my car door. I spun & ended up banging into the front of a house near the road. Airbag, glass shards, totaled car…
I realize that I could just as easily be with the Lord right now. I am sore, have a black eye & some whiplash, but am otherwise fine. I am reminded of Psalm 139- especially verse 16. “All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” He knows my story from beginning to end, and mine apparently has more pages and chapters to come. God is good, and that would be true no matter how this turned out, but we are grateful this turned out the way it did. Praise God with us. We’d appreciate prayer that we can find a replacement for my car and rapid healing from the bruises & whiplash.
2025 Highlights
- I joined the 1for50 Global Leadership Team (GLT) in Dubai in February. I accepted their invitation to join the team. We serve the 1for50 children’s leaders network: *active in over 100 nations, *help the leaders connect, *provide encouragement for one another, *join in prayer & praise for what is happening, *provide training via Zoom webinars to provide training on relevant topics for global leaders, * manage our 1for50 YouTube channel (100’s of children’s ministry videos).
- We facilitated 2 outstanding webinars. One was with Rich Melheim, RICH Learning, who is an educational expert in brain development. His insights into how to teach children in creative ways that lead to real learning and lifetime discipleship are fantastic. Check it out on the 1for50 YouTube channel. (https://youtu.be/zipRNskgnaw?si=RRG2vQvniVUVReXT) It has changed how I teach.
- The other one was a focus on PreTeens (5th-8th graders). Miguel Enriques has focused on this age group for a a few decades. He is brilliant in understanding this age group specifically- how to reach, disciple and empower them in ministry to their peers, churches and communities. I encourage you to check out. - Began doing KIDStory training along with 1for50 training. We taught some & they taught many others! Pastors & leaders are excited to have this new skill because they only need a Bible and some know how to impact kids. Many are seeing their churches grow as they focus on children.
- Doing a training with a Masaai church in Kenya. So many cultural challenges for the children!
- Was part of the curriculum team for Bible2School – A school release evangelistic/discipleship ministry. We finished writing curriculum to expand their program from 2nd – 4th grade to include 5th and 6th grades also. (Recently featured on Focus on the Family.)
- A 1for50 colleague and I attended the KIDStory Summit in Panama. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet and network with KIDStory leaders from all over the world. 1for50 has already partnered with one of those leaders to do a training in Thailand. More on the horizon in the future.
- Another 1for50 colleague and I attended the 4/14 Meetings in Dallas, TX in November. Another opportunity to network with leaders from many organizations to discuss the possibility of doing regional conferences together in a coordinated way. We already had this idea on our radar at 1for50, so this was timely. Please pray for us as we investigate doing a 1for50/ KIDStory/ 4/14 conference in Africa (Nairobi?)/or Asia? during 2026.
- Greg went to Kenya to lead a medical mission trip in February.
The Year Ahead (so far) in 2026
- Help Miguel write a book on ministry to PreTeens, and put his training into the 1for50 format.
- Put the KIDStory training material into the 1for50 training format.
- Possibly help to put on a 1for50/ KIDStory/ 4/14 conference during 2026.
- Travel to Dubai in February for GLT planning meetings. Conference planning, etc.
- Greg to Kenya to lead a medical mission trip in February.
- Go to Kenya in April to do a 4 day training in the same place where the medical mission will be. It wil be for the teachers of 2 Christian schools in a ‘M’ area.
A while ago a technology glitch deleted our mailchimp account. We tried to restore it, but it didn’t happen. So we are shifting gears. Our website will soon be the place to go to stay up to date with us. It is almost up & running. We will release prayer letters to you first on email, & then you will be able to see them (& more) on our website. Feel free to email us at Greg’s email (below) so we can be sure we have your current email address(es).
I began a Nancy’s Trip Prayer Updates WhatsApp group last year where I put real time updates as I travel on ministry trips. It was a blessing to others since they knew how to pray day to day (and sometimes miniute by minute in tight situations) & was an encouragement to me, knowing that our prayer supporters were ‘with me’ praying in real time. It was like bringing people on my trips, seeing things through my eyes. I have had great feedback. I only activate it when something is actually happening (like a trip or my car accident last Friday). I try to honor your time and keep it as consise as possible. If you would like to join the group, join WhatsApp and text me there to add you. Nancy Fritz 509-990-8465.
Here is our family these days. 10 grands aged almost 3 to 11. We bought Raven Creek Lodge last year so we would have room to be together. We closed & used the it that way for the month of July, a week at Thanksgiving and will over the Christmas holidays. Otherwise we have VRBO and AirBnB businesses. We just received the “Best Lodge in Columbia County for 2025” Award. Please let us know if you want to visit. We consider you family and would love to host you! We wish you the best Christmas ever!
